Reach Mentoring is a Christian charity that exists to journey alongside our children & young people as they navigate challenging life circumstances through one-to-one mentoring and personal development workshops. Our aim is to create a safe space in schools, with a trusted adult where a young person will be celebrated, championed and heard. We partner with 53 schools with pupils aged from Primary 6 to school leaver. With the support of our volunteers, we mentor around 850 pupils a week in Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Lurgan, Portadown, Dungannon, Cookstown and Magherafelt.
Schools that partner with Reach Mentoring benefit from the social, emotional, behavioural and wellbeing support we offer for their pupils in several dimensions:
Reach acts as a safe space for young people who may be vulnerable to social, emotional or wellbeing issues to feel nurtured and a place where they feel they belong.
Reach helps support a positive learning environment in the classroom by providing a preventative buffer to help pupils with behavioural issues to help regulate, relate and reason.
Reach is an inclusive environment for pupils to have the opportunity to work together and have their voice heard in a meaningful and accessible manner.
The programme contributes to the overall rights-respecting ethos of the school by creating an environment for pupils to listened to, where their ideas are valued, to get involved and make choices about matters affecting their lives.
Where potentially vulnerable pupils have faced child protection issues, Reach is a safe place for the young person to feel special, valued and to ask for help.
Reach Mentoring adds to the schools ethos of supporting pupils’ growth into responsible members of the community by helping unleash a mentee's full potential.

“(At Killicomaine) We have been delighted to have partnered with REACH over the last 5 years. They have journeyed alongside our pupils to help them to gain confidence and work to be the best they can at school and home.”
“Our whole school community thanks them for what they do weekly to walk alongside our pupils.”
